Santorini is found among the 56 picture postcard perfect Greek islands known as the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. Mykonos, Naxos and Paros are just some of the neighbouring Greek islands to beautiful Santorini.
Look on any map of Santorini and you won't find much to confuse you. There are just over a dozen villages on the 73 km² (28 mi²) tiny island of Santorini. The most visited locations are Fira, Oia, Firostefani, Imerovigli, Akrotiri, Emporio, Perissa and Kamari.
Fira is the capital of Santorini and again is picture postcard perfect with blue domed churches, white washed buildings, tiny alley ways and the best nightlife and shopping on the island. Most scenic photos that are so evocative of the Greek islands are shots of Fira and Oia.
The popular sunset viewing point at Oia has to be one of the most picturesque locations in the world. Many visitors flock to this idyllic spot to witness the famous Santorini sunset.
Kamari is a very popular holiday resort with lots going on. It has a black beach lined with many restaurants, bars and traditional Greek Tavernas. It has an open air cinema, plenty of brilliant places to eat and a fair number of bars to sample an Ouzo or two!
Perissa with its fabulous beaches of Perissa and Perivolos stretches out for miles and is one of the best places for water sports, beach activities and sun lounging.
